The first model for the Tale of Warlords.

I had a load of fun painting up this Incubi! I’m taking part in a Tale of Warlords style thing and I’ve chosen to do Dark Eldar. I’ve always been drawn to the Incubi every time I’ve seen them so I thought why not start off my force with some?

There has been no paint mixing for this - every colour has been out of the pot. I wanted it that way for simplicity and also for consistency, I didn’t want to accidentally mix a shade too light or dark one time and have to replicate it on the others.

I will do another blog post about how to do the bases, but basically I wanted to get an effect of magical energy escaping through the cracks in the ground. I think it worked out really well!

I’d love some feedback, so feel free to leave a comment. Thanks for reading!

  2. The base is very lovely. A simple idea, but well executed.
